Lightning Brick Pavers

Unlike your average secondary school, Servite College underwent a significant renovation and has been transformed into a contemporary centre for education and collaboration.

The school’s main plaza includes oblong half-height raised flowerbeds, encompassed in a sleek off-white concrete form. Native flora and greenery fills the flowerbed, creating an enclave of natural biodiversity and paying homage to the surrounding and pre-existing natural landscape. To ensure that students are able to socialise year-round, there are shaded undercover pergola-esque structures. These create an alfresco-feel, and encourage students to spend time outdoors regardless of the season.

Chosen for the outdoor flooring throughout the school’s exterior, UrbanStone Bespoke Pavers line the plaza. Ensuring a timeless design style and durability, the pavers are sure to last the test of time, both in functionality and in style. With an array of 39 colours and 4 finishes to choose from, the design possibilities with UrbanStone are endless.

The ideal option for schools, UrbanStone Pavers are able to withstand high levels of foot-traffic and are durable enough to hold their own against exposure to the elements be it rain, hail or shine. Furthermore, their tactile finish and patina ensure that they have slip-resistant qualities, perfect for the bustle of school break times, whilst still maintaining a sleek finish and aesthetic quality.

Offering a unique design style, the pavers feature a varying pattern and colour scheme. The varying finishes include a charcoal terrazzo, silver grey and plain charcoal laid in cohesion alongside one another. The bespoke design creates a feeling of flow and continuity from one space to another, with each tone complementing the textural and colour palette of the other existing buildings.

Designed to complement the existing landscape, both natural and architectural, the bespoke pavers sit in harmony with the natural materiality of the other buildings, and indeed to the elements of the natural environment that line the school. The intricate detailing of the pavers contributes to any overall elevated design style, unlike the asphalt flooring featured in the schools of yore.

“The bespoke design creates a feeling of flow and continuity from one space to another, with each tone complementing the textural and colour palette of the other existing buildings.”
